Puppy Training Update

My 7-month-old puppy and I have started taking a couple of training classes. They have been so wonderful and are really helping socialize Emme! The two classes we are taking right now are Basic Obedience and Foundation Puppy Agility.


Tiring out an active puppy can often be a challenge. Especially on those dreary, rainy, cold days where NOBODY wants to go outside for long, especially not for a long walk or playtime. I dread days like these… But I’ve managed many of them so far with my 6-month-old puppy, and I have to say – we’ve done well! Some days I think I’ve tired her out MORE than if we went outside! How did we do it? Here’s how…

We just started a 6-week Puppy Agility Foundation class. I thought I’d chronicle what we are learning on the blog.


Our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Emme, is now just over 6 months old. WOW! I can’t believe how quickly they grow up and are dogs all of a sudden.


I’d recently seen a blog post with a “Day in the life with a new baby”, and that made me think about a day in the life with a new puppy! It is quite a change. Right now my puppy is 19 weeks old. Here is a typical day.
