I currently do not have a refugium. I used to keep reef tanks years ago with a sump filter system and a Marineland hang on back filter. I used plenty of live rock and always had good results with the tank. Used a 250 watt metal halide light and loved it! Now getting back into the hobby, I’m amazed at how the technology has advanced! Now it’s LED lighting, refugiums that are magnificent to grow macro-algae, upgraded powerheads like the Hydor series and easy wave makers! Yes I’ve set up a new reef (using frags) with my old metal halide light and a sump, but am salivating over adding newer equipment!
