The Benefit of a Tree Falling On Your Car

by Claire H. on July 24, 2014

tree-standing A couple of years ago the large oak tree in our front yard came down and landed on my car. It was a sad day for both my car and our yard. The tree had made it through being struck by lightening multiple times, although it bore the scars of it. It provided shade in the summer as well.

When my friends chopped down what was left of the tree, I asked for them to save me a piece of the tree so I could perhaps make a sign or something along those lines. The piece of tree has been resting on my front porch since. Recently, I started noticing that there was wood shavings randomly showing up on the floor. I was a little perplexed, as it has never shed much of anything before.

Potatoe loves spending her time on the screened-in front porch. She’s a porch kitty as much as I can allow, and she has apparently decided that the piece of wood is the perfect scratcher. Although I never intended this use for it I decided that if it makes her happy, she can have it. I also prefer she uses this over choosing a piece of furniture.

Has your pet ever claimed something you had a plan for?
