A visit to Bloomberg TV with LiveAquaria.com Director Kevin Kohen

Aquarium at the Bloomberg buildingRecently we were contacted by Bloomberg TV asking if we would like to do a segment with their nightly show, “Taking Stock with Pimm Fox“. They were interested in doing a piece about our LiveAquaria.com website and some of the high-priced fish that we have sold. So LiveAquaria.com Director Kevin Kohen headed out to New York City one afternoon to do an interview with Pimm Fox.

The Bloomberg building is right in the middle of downtown Manhattan, NY, and is very impressive. We were greeted at the front desk, where we had our photo taken, badges printed with our names, and our host’s name. Then we went through security and headed up to the TV studios. As we entered the next floor, we were greeted by a very large saltwater reef aquarium! Needless to say that was a great way to start the experience.

After meeting the various producers and interns involved, Kevin had his makeup done (yes!), we waited in the Green Room for his turn. Pimm Fox stopped by to say hello and say how excited he was to talk to Kevin as he is a big fan of aquariums himself. While we waited, we admired some uber-expensive diamond jewelry that was also going to be on that evening’s broadcast (heavily guarded!). Soon it was time for Kevin to head to his segment.

I watched the segment live while sitting in the Green Room and it was so much fun! Take a look at the video below:

Afterwards, we discovered that not only was there one marine aquarium, but no less than 30! Apparently what started out as a goldfish in a bowl became a real passion for the company, and now they source out 6 employees from an aquarium maintenance company to tend to the aquariums. The several we managed to get a look at were all very well stocked with corals and fat, healthy fish. It was great to see a company willing to take the time & effort to care properly for these aquariums. Thank you, Bloomberg TV for the great experience.
