I and my husband have had saltwater tanks loaded with coral and freshwater filled with peacock cichlids. We have been together a total of 5 years having fish from the start. Its a hobby for the both of us.

DeVoe November 15, 2013 at 7:27 pm

My wife and I started a freshwater tank about a year ago and I AM ADDICTED. She was into the ceramic stuff and fake plants, but I eventually bought a piece of drift wood and a ton of live plants. We have done many hours or research, on the fish we have, plants, water conditions, CO2 systems, etc and have grown to love our fish and tank. I hope to soon be experienced enough to start a saltwater tank. The LED would be a WELCOME edition.

I have kept fish for 15 years starting a saltwater tank with a roommate. Eventually that led to two small tanks, those left and a big one was put in. Now I also keep a 2000g koi pond as we’ll for the last 3 years

My father always had a freshwater fish tank as far back as I can remember. When I got married that was one of the first things we bought. That was 37 years ago and I am still going strong. I love to watch the fish and the lighting has a lot to do with it. Very calming in this hectic world.

Dain Bradford November 15, 2013 at 10:00 pm

I have been in the saltwater hobby for just about 2 years.

Just started a freshwater tank about 5 months ago and I’m already planning my fish tank room! Now if only I had the money…. Haha

Corey Wickliffe November 15, 2013 at 10:44 pm

I’ve been keeping aquariums since I was a kid, but planted freshwater tanks seriously for the last 5 years and just got started with marine tanks! I’ve been doing rainforest terrariums for 15 and I’m dying to test some of these aquarium LEDs out on them as well. One of my “terrariums” turned into a very well planted hillstream paludarium with Stiphodon gobies… and wanting to raise their larvae (as well as the Nerite snail and filter feeding shrimp in with them with the same amphidromous life cyle) got me into the marine side of things a bit. Marine macroalgae looks fun!

Amanda Crubaugh November 16, 2013 at 12:08 am

I have only been in the hobby for maybe 7 years, but I absolutely love it! I have just recently upgraded my saltwater to a 125 gallon and I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank that would benefit from this type of light or even the 20 gallon since I currently don’t have a light for it. I have one led strip for my saltwater and just LOVE it but haven’t been able to make that upgrade for the freshwater.

I’ve been in the aquarium hobby for over 25 years. I’m currently running five different nano tanks.
I’m excited to hear about this contest. With one flexible LED I’d be able to consolidate my lighting demands. Each of my nano tanks are heavily planted, hi tech, ADA style. I’d be very happy to experiment with the LED lighting vs. the use of CFL’s and the effects on plant growth.

Justin Hodges November 18, 2013 at 10:12 am

I’ve been in the aquarium hobby for about 15 years (since I was a teenager)… my current setup is a 240 gallon fresh water tank that has about 70 fish in it, mostly 3″-11″ African Cichlids. I’d love to add some LED lights to my tank to help it really pop.

Rhonda November 18, 2013 at 10:16 am

My parents always had a tank. I have always had a tank and my children, now grown have a tank. A house is not a home without my fish tank. I have a 75. gallon tank set up in my new house with no lighting at all. RGB+White would be fun to play with. Blue+White would be really nice too. To win this this would be great!

Melanie November 18, 2013 at 10:29 am
