I was honorably discharged from the army in dec 07 after serving over five years and deploying to Iraq twice for a total of 28 1/2 months. I purchased a beautiful 210 gallon setup with my deployment money and had my dream tank. Long story short in November 2011 I went through a very nasty break up and somehow ended up losing my tank (among many other things). I’ve just set up a 55 gallon tank. This is the first aquarium I’ve been able to afford since losing my 210… I had intended on setting it up as a FOWLR because of my budget for this build. Being chosen for this give away would allow me to obviously have a gorgeous reef setup for my new project.

I am currently setting up a new 55 gal salt water aquarium but time got tough and i have no financial support……winning this contest would be key!!!
thanks!

I lost almost all my corals due to a winter storm and power outage for 50hrs the week before Christmas. I have slowly been rebuilding since and would love to have some DFS corals back in my tank.

i would love to win a little shopping spree never really won anything before… 3 years ago i had a 90 gallon reef until the local power company shut my power off when they weren’t supposed to and didn’t turn it on till till the following evening.. well the temperature was in the negatives during the time the power was out and i lost 90% of what was in my tank.. now all i have is a 30 gallon and can’t afford to get new coral i frag what i can from my tank to trade in for supplies like salt and food for the tank but basically thats about it and can’t afford to add anything new so would be awesome to win this and finally get some new coral and new excitement for the tank….

Kevin Thurlby November 20, 2013 at 12:38 pm

My tank is mostly aquacultured SPS and I would love the chance to be able to add a few more from the fine selection on LiveAquaria!!!

Heather Poythress November 20, 2013 at 1:36 pm

My boyfriend and I have toured your facility at the open houses ! We absolutely love it! Out of the other places we have seen, nothing has even compared to it! This is where we have purchased basically all of our fish needs! Winning this would be a great thing to have so we can continue to add more to our beautiful tank! We have a 175 gallon fish tank for us then we have a 15 gallon for my son that we just started! Adding more coral to each tank would make them even more beautiful! A shopping spree would simply be amazing!!!! We look forward to seeing the facility again!!

I would love to win the prize to add more variety to my church’s 100 gallon reef aquarium. The aquarium is located in our children’s wing and everyone from our Preschool Ministry to our Special Needs Ministry loves it. Unfortunately after purchasing salt, food, filters, etc there are no extra funds to add corals. Winning this coral giveaway would bring us one step closer to having a small piece of a coral reef for everyone to enjoy.

Earlier this year I had a neighbor take care of my fish/corals while on vacation, needless to say I came back to a trashed tank from overfeeding. Tank went thru a downward spiral and I lost almost all my mushrooms, ricordia, starburst, chalice, finger leather etc. I have finally balanced the 90 gal tank bank out (9 months), fish are all well, and I have seen some re-growth of my mushrooms and Chalice is budding again after loosing 90% of its mass. Ready to get the tank looking great again…this would be a great opportunity.

I need this giveaway because I purchased some corals and ended up with a bad case of montipora eating nudibranches that wiped out half of my tank. At that moment I promised myself I’d never cheat on you guys again!

I need this giveaway because I purchased some corals from another vendor and ended up with a bad case of montipora eating nudibranches that wiped out half of my tank. At that moment I promised myself I’d never cheat on you guys again!

Don’t have too much in the line of corals in the tank. Lost AC this summer for a few days … of course on the days where it hit 95+ and lost some corals that I have not yet been able to replace. On the good side at least all my fish and corkscrew anem survived. :)

Annette November 20, 2013 at 4:02 pm

I would love to have the chance to add some of your great corals to my piece of the ocean! Thanks again!

Jeremy Boitnott November 20, 2013 at 4:17 pm

I’ve been doing seahorses for a while now, but they tend to limit the coral that I can do. I’ve set up a new 40 gallon breeder with a sweet LED system, and I’m looking to move on to the more difficult coral. I love a challenge!!

Noah Hess November 20, 2013 at 4:36 pm

I got into the hobby about two years ago, and after seeing my tank, my father wanted one for himself. About a year ago, we set up a 75 gallon reef tank in our living room, and it is doing nicely. As christmas is looming around the corner, I really want to get my dad a nice piece of coral or a nice fish for his tank, but I don’t exactly have the funds to buy anything nice for his tank, let alone mine. Winning this contest would allow me to get something nice for him, and it would be a great honor. However, I would be overjoyed if it went to someone who needed or deserved it more. Thank you for running this contest and helping everybody out in the hobby :)

Paul November 20, 2013 at 4:49 pm

I told my 12 year old son that if he got a saltwater aquarium that he would have to do the work and pay for any fish or corals he wanted to add (I helped with purchasing the initial equipment). It had taken him awhile to save the money too buy a couple $15 frags. This would be an absolute thrill for him to get some more coral! He only has 2 frags right now in his 40 gallon. Thanks for your consideration!

Vinny November 20, 2013 at 5:02 pm

i need this giveaway because my girlfriend and I want to start a reef tank

Cameron Garrett November 20, 2013 at 5:07 pm

I have recently started a 40 gallon tank and plan to make a reef tank. I am only a teenager and have very little money. Whenever I apply for a job I am turned down because I want to spend time on schoolwork and could only work on weekends. Everytime that I plan to buy a fish or coral, I end up having to give it away to something else. I really want to be able to create a gorgeous reef tank and frag some of the corals. This $200 would allow me to put corals in my tank. I never have won anything from anyone no matter how many times I try. This money would be extremely important to me. Thank you very much.

Julie Lewter November 20, 2013 at 9:10 pm

As a newbie to the hobby its been quite the challenge to keep my 14 gallon nano reef on track. In the short time I have been working with corals I have fell in love with my little piece of the ocean . I am hoping to move into a bigger tank and would really love to win. Every day I am amazed at the beauty and complexity of the little reef in my tank .Good luck to all who enter, and thanks for offering such a great contest!

Nancy Plaza November 21, 2013 at 8:35 am

Just upgraded my 55 gallon to 100 gallon, had to get all new filters, refugium lights and the spendung spree would help me add beautuful coral to the “Environment” as I call my ocean in my house community. Good luck to everyone.

Justin November 21, 2013 at 8:37 am

Man I would love to win this because lets face it I have a nano aquarium that really is not doing good because of financials. If I won this I would use it to give myself this dream tank that ive always want…and the reason why i love this hobby.

Sal Tedesco November 21, 2013 at 8:40 am

I’m a 5 year Dr. F&S/Live Aquaria customer and I’m upgrading my 75 gallon LPS and softie tank to a 125 mixed and need some SPS to start me off :)

Leonard Stiff November 21, 2013 at 8:47 am

Im hook 2 the hobby. It be great to get help with beginner corals.

Justin Singleton November 21, 2013 at 8:47 am

Well…. the main reason that I would like to win…. is the fact that I am in the process of setting up a 210 and it will definitely need to be stocked…. and why not stock it with the best stuff from yall…..

Bradley November 21, 2013 at 8:51 am

Just got a 220.gallon tank and this would give me a good start to making it super colorful. Besides my one year old princess would love the colors.

Brandon November 21, 2013 at 8:55 am

I’m a longstanding customer of LA and continue to trust and enjoy, the excellent specimens from Divers Den. I can always trust, when I make my order, it will be top notch! Thanks LA/F&S!

Mike DeLuca November 21, 2013 at 9:00 am

David Chacon November 21, 2013 at 9:03 am

I am a registered nurse with a love for the ocean and all the incredible creatures in it. I am fairly new to reefing compared to people that have been in the hobby for years, I’ve only been for lack of a better word “addicted” for roughly 8 months. Since then I’ve upgraded from a 34 gallon nano to a 76 gallon half round oceanic and I must say it’s been an amazing few months. Everything has been done on a budget (my wife and I have our first baby due any day now), I guess as the pregnancy progressed so did the aquarium. I’ve met so many incredible people through this hobby and most have been very helpful with advice and generous with frags but there is always the “need” for those rare piece that at the moment I can’t afford. I know my limitation and I hate to see anything die, but with that said I know I’ve progressed a lot from the person who didn’t know squat about reefing to someone who has learned how to respect this lifestyle through knowledge, respect and dedication. Thanks for this great opportunity.

Bob Blaschke November 21, 2013 at 9:17 am

I have not been able to afford new corals in over a year for my 11 y/o son. He is an excellent reefkeeper. He would love to be able to choose some new animals to welcome into his tank.

Jessica November 21, 2013 at 9:18 am

I’ve recently lost most of my stock due to a move and on a fixed income. This would be awesome to be able to stock my tank, and maybe even getting something I’ve only been able to drool over but never be able to afford!!
Love this site regardless!

alexus November 21, 2013 at 9:22 am

I would love to win this for my mom!! It would be the best Christmas present ever!!

Eric Fite November 21, 2013 at 9:29 am

I just finished setting up a 40g. I did this as a must all be DIY and must run efficiently and quietly as possible.

David D. November 21, 2013 at 9:30 am

I’ve only been in the hobby for a year now and have just upgraded my 75 to a 90. The upgrade and my sons medical bills ate up most of the fish/coral funds. It’s been a slow process, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it so far.

Erik November 21, 2013 at 9:31 am

I am setting up a 60 cube, and will need corals to fill it up!

Michael Gunselman November 21, 2013 at 9:34 am

I am setting up a frag tank to propagate corals for beginner reefers in my area. I have been shopping at LA for two years now. By winning this shopping spree I would grow the frags won to colonies and start a propagation program for my local reefing community by paying it forward.

Miguel Romero November 21, 2013 at 9:37 am

I started my first saltwater setup 1.5 years ago with just fish and live rock. This summer I started introducing corals and have really loved what it has brought to my aquarium. This summer I also had my first experience with live aquaria. I bought a powder blue tang and wrasse. The customer service and livestock quality were outstanding. My next purchase will be some corals from live aquaria and this $200 giveaway will definitely allow me to purchase a few quality corals to add to my reef setup. Thank you and good luck to everyone that entered.

Robert Capuano November 21, 2013 at 9:48 am

I have always bought my fish and corals from LiveAquaria and have been in saltwater reefkeeping for over 8 years now. I love it!

I recently just lost my job and could definitely use this shopping spree to spruce up my new 75 gallon reef tank.

Winning this spree would mean so much to me!!

Joe Ross November 21, 2013 at 9:51 am

Have recently got into the marine aquarium hobby a year ago with a 55 Gallon FOWLR. I am now upgrading my 55G to a 120G long Display with a 55G sump for the purpose of having a reef tank. History of my obsession, as a child I have always had freshwater tanks, but have always preferred having a saltwater tank. I originally caught this bug while in Okinawa, Japan scuba diving and seeing all the beauty that escapes most people, that is just beneath the surface of the water. I would love to win so I can continue to re-create this beauty and bring the ocean to my home since I am unabel to scuba dive any more.

Leonard Stiff November 21, 2013 at 10:27 am
