Photo Gallery: Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!

by DFS-Pet-Blog on October 11, 2011

Photo-Studio **Guest post from Ellen B.**

A few times per year, the Drs. Foster & Smith photo studio has a litter of puppies in for a photo shoot. Puppies are irresistibly cute! My team mate (Jackie) and I are like puppy magnets. When we hear that there are puppies in the photo studio, we can’t help but to sneak in there for a puppy fix! To be honest, Jackie and I are both dog fanatics in general, so we often sneak into the photo studio no matter what type of dogs are there.

Drs. Foster & Smith catalogs for dog supplies often have a photo of puppies on the cover. If I may boast, the catalog that will be delivered to subscribers homes this month has my puppy (Izzy) on the cover. She was in the photo studio with several of her littermates just before our local animal shelter let them go to their forever homes. She’s not quite 6-weeks old in this picture. (Subscribe to the catalog here!)

Izzy’s particular litter caused quite the stir among employees. Pictured here with me are a few other teammates who couldn’t resist the cuteness of those puppies!

Recently, there was a litter of Boston Terriers in the photo studio. They were so cute; Jackie and I just had to visit them a couple times throughout the day. We had our photographer snap some extra photos to share with you. Enjoy!

My parents have the sweetest Bischon in the world! Lilly loves everyone and worships my elderly dog Casey when she visits. Everything Casey does, Lilly has to do. Lilly was adopted by my parents and they couldn’t imagine not having her now! We all order from your website and catalog and loved everything we’ve gotten. Lilly would love a Bristle Busy Buddy Bone! Casey still loves her Drs Foster and Smith bed that she’s had for 8 years! I even ordered another one to keep at my parents house. Thank you for all your great products and wonderful customer service!

We have two rescue small pups, Red, a dapple dachshund, and Ty, a cross between a long-haired dachshund and a poodle (his Dad never fessed up). We call them the twin tornadoes for when they start playing, it’s ‘lift your feet’ because they dash around and fly everywhere on the furniture, on family, and especially on our two rescue big pups, brothers that are half weimaraners and half-catahoula leopards (all in the house of course!). They do stay at home during the day and the small pups definitely need something to keep them busy since their big brothers are outside during the day. They would love to check the Bristle Busy Buddy Bone out and then perhaps with their allowance, they could by another one! Cheers from Texas!

I just got two eight week old Miniature Pinscher foster puppies who are into everything. At two months old chew toys are extremely important. They would love an XS Bristle Busy Buddy Bone to keep them busy. Thank you.

I’m not commenting to enter the contest (think XS bone would be too little for my Boston Terrier). Just had to say how much I LOVED the pictures of those Boston Terrier pups. I’ve never seen a gray one like that – can you give us more info on him/her? Or is that just what the coat looks like before it turns brindle/seal?

Ellen B. October 11, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Shelley – good question! We did a little research and here’s what we found.

As it states in the Blue and White (aka Silver, Grey or Steel) link on this page of Boston Terrier Hub website: Blue Boston Terriers have recently increased in popularity. The blue coloring is a dilution of the traditional black. Blue coat coloring is common in many breeds. As they grow, cream brindling may also appear, but disappear once the dog is full grown.

My understanding is that the grey-colored BTs are not approved by the AKC. Here’s the AKC Boston Terrier page.

Thanks for the question, a few of us here found it quite interesting to learn about!

I have a 6-month-old female Yorkie that is obsessed with chewing EVERYTHING! I would love to have one of your x-tra small Bristle Busy Buddy would delight her and keep her from getting into trouble chewing up my stuff! Thank you!!

Her name is Bella the Chihuahua. She was rescued from a puppymill in Texas. She is now living with my sister in Wisconsin. I found out about Bella through a client at the vet I work for and snatched her up. She is soooo cute. She is black and tan and about 4lbs. We had her at our house in MD. for a little over a month and she was such a joy. We have a 110lb. Newf/Chow and a 75lb. Golden. Mike the Newf and her would play so rough and I was always afraid he would hurt her on accident. Not once did he hurt her, he would bite her without teeth and roll her with his nose. They were so cute together. I feel Bella needs the busy bone because she no longer has Mike to rough house and chew on. Mike would love to send this to her as an “I Miss You” gift!

Thank You,
Bonnie, Mike, Farley and Bella

Thanks so much for the awesome answer, Ellen! You’re so helpful and the blue color is so interesting. I consider myself a bit of a Boston Terrier aficionado (I own one named Hamlet) but I had no idea there was a blue color.

My mom rescued a 3 year old papillon who we named Tobie.. He came from a puppy mill and was only used as a breading dog. Forently he was able to be resued from that situation and really is the sweetest dog dispite his ugly backround! She has had him for the last year and a half and in that time hes learned how to play like a normal dog and LOVES his cookies!! He loves to chew and just get all the stuff and attention hes never had before. Im sure he would love one of these bones!!

Dianne October 12, 2011 at 10:14 am

We just adopted a rescue dog named Annie. She is a pug mix we think but she only weighs 9 pounds. The vet thinks she is about 1.5 years old so she wont get any bigger.
The chew toys for my other dogs are too big for her. I would love to have a XS Bristle Busy Buddy Bone to keep her busy when we leave her in her crate to run errands. She is just so cute…

the puppy pictures are just so adorable!
My two 3 month old mini doxie puppies would really enjoy a x-tra small Bristle Busy Buddy . They are starting to figure out what a wonderful thing treats are ! LOL

Pam October 12, 2011 at 10:28 am

My Peke swears he is still a pup and will run around ears, tail and fur flying in the wind. πŸ™‚

Michelle Spayde October 12, 2011 at 10:29 am

Puppies! πŸ™‚ LOVE the pics!!!

My Pomeranian, Sarah, would really enjoy a Bristle Busy Buddy Bone! A recent visitor (my mother’s HUGE German Shepherd) really went to town on Sarah’s mini things recently! We thought that they were all out of reach, but didn’t consider the fact that a 135 lb dog can reach quite a few things!

Hi! I have a 4 year old Chihuahua, his name is Bean and he has such a personality. I would never have guessed he had such a personality when I first met him but he has made my life so great. You may say he is more spoiled than my boyfriend πŸ˜‰

marcia newlin October 12, 2011 at 10:38 am

Porter loves to chew on those! He knows when i am getting ready to leave for an errand and waits by the treat drawer. His favorite is the bristle busy buddy bone! I have to put it up when i get home, because he keeps chewing on it – after the treats are gone!!! IOur other small dog, is not a chewer, but loves the treats that go on the “BBBB”! Please pick them – they will pay their thanks in licks!!! I love it too, because porter is still a puppy and lots of energy. The BBBB keeps him out of trouble! lol

Marina October 12, 2011 at 10:51 am

I have a black and tan miniature dachshund that is about 3 years old and has just gotten into his chewing phase. He never chewed as a puppy (and that we were thankful for). He loves any type of toy or bone to chew on. PLEASE pick Malachi!!!!
