Today is World Rabies Day. Did you know more than 55,000 people in the world die of rabies each year? Annually, over 6,000 cases of rabies are reported in animals in the United States. Please, take the time to check the rabies vaccination status of your dog, cat or ferret, and if due, schedule the vaccination today!

For more on rabies see this article from PetEducation.com: Rabies in Dogs: Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment & Vaccination.

I often worry about the wild cats that wander around by my house, My rat terrier is immunized but I still worry. At least with the vaccine I have some peace of mind.
Happy National Coffee Day!

Although there is no approved rabies vaccine for pot bellied pigs at this time since we live in a high risk area for rabies we get our pot bellied pigs vaccinated using rabies vaccines for dogs! It’s better to be safe than sorry! Our pigs are part of our family just like our cats and dogs! It’s time for another cup of coffee! I would love to have a Black Bridgeport Stoneware Mug! “Happy National Coffee Day”!
