Bolt Laser Cat Toy (Review)

Bolt Laser Cat Toy

I got my hands on this cool new product I saw in our catalog the other day. It is called the FroliCat Bolt Laser Toy. I was so excited to bring this home and see what our cats would think! Having used a laser pointer before as a toy for our cats, I knew they would be interested. I do suggest not buying the toy unless you know your cat is interested in laser toys. We have three cats – one of them LOVES the laser, and the other two just play with it occasionally.

Check out the video below to see what fun it is! I love watching them play with it.

We usually set it down on the floor once a night. It runs on 4 AA batteries and shuts off automatically after 15 minutes. You could set it on a table or counter, and get a bigger range. We also found that dimming the lights helped the laser show up brighter and easier for the cats to spot. Cirrhi, our female cat LOVES the laser. She watches it carefully the entire time it is running, and pounces every three or four minutes. Every now and then one of our other cats, who are not as interested in the laser sees it and goes crazy playing for a few minutes. It’s quite comical!

They did tend to be initially interested in the top of the toy where the laser is and moves. The noise and movement was interesting to them. We generally moved them away from checking it out too closely and now they really pay no attention to it at all.

I really love this toy because it keeps the cats busy when they might otherwise be napping (and then playing at night when we are trying to sleep!). And it also allows us the flexibility to watch them play with it (FUN), or be able to cook dinner, etc. Highly recommended by cats and people!

Oh, our little Seti would love this! He is always looking for something to chase and play with. He keeps trying to get his dog brother and sister to play with him, but they aren’t responding to his efforts. : )

We adopted a 16 pound cat named Orange Bryce last year. He is a beautiful, 6 year old Red Tabby with an independent streak. He does however, show his fun personality when we play with the laser pen. This toy would be a great surprise for him as we celebrate his 1st anniversary with us in July. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

My cat Riley would love this! She is obsessed with laser lights so much that we go through batteries like it’s nothing! She will meow until we get it out and use it, so this would definitely be something we would all be interested in!

Our girl Willow would love this. It may even help her lose some weight.

I will have to give this a try. I’ve used a laser pen on our cat Lily a few times. The first time – curious and chased. The second time, she got scared and I chased her. Perhaps she’ll be more into it now. πŸ™‚
