Mocca enjoying a good win!
Well we FINALLY DID IT! Yes indeed folks, we finally got a CLEAN RUN in the Excellent Level of AKC Agility! We finally achieved a Q in our Jumpers With Weaves course in our last competition! If you follow my posts about our trials & tribulations in agility competitions, you’ll know I’ve been very frustrated lately with our inability to Qualify in any of our courses. We have been so very close lately! Tiny missteps away from clean runs in all courses! FINALLY we did it!!
Applause please!
Treats for Mocca…. Thank you!
We did not Q in our Standard Agility course, but we were again off by only one small error on my part. I wanted to do a front cross after a jump, to get on a better side for handling the rest of the course, but didn’t get there fast enough so Mocca got turned around (as did I!), and she stepped past the next obstacle slightly before adjusting to it the right way. This gave us a No-Qualify. I think we are so close to Q’ing in this course now too, I am just certain of it! We’ll get it next time.
Our Jumpers With Weaves course was fantastic. I had the course memorized perfectly and knew where I needed to be and when! And what do you know? Mocca did too! Well, that just means I guided her through the course flawlessly! We were even almost 5 seconds UNDER TIME! I was so excited when we left the arena, I forgot to check the time, so I had to wait for our results. I was overjoyed when we saw the big “Q” on the board for us! Mocca got some extra special loving that day! What a good girl!!!
So now we are onto our next competition in a couple weeks and I have high hopes to continue on this positive run. We’ve been practicing hard, and I just can’t wait for our next competition! I’ll try to find somebody to do a video for us this next time. Having a video to review is so very helpful. Thanks everybody for the words of encouragement. I hope we keep it up!

Yay! Congratulations on your succes. Were you in the ribbons, by any chance? Does this mean that Mocca is now a MACH?
Ilka and I are way behind in our training because I was gone for a week, and she, Lucky and oldest cat Sandy were boarding at the vet’s. Then, our teacher was out this past week, and anyway, I had dental work done on class day. Because I have to be sedated (I am horribly phobic about going to the dentist), it takes a few days to recover completely, so we only started up “real” training again on Sunday. Just basic civilization is a daily struggle. The way things are going, we will be getting our CD title when she’s about 15.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
