Aquaculture Facility Open House

by Melissa R. on May 2, 2010

coral-farm-tour-coralsOn Saturday, April 17, 2010, we opened up our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility in Rhinelander, WI to the public for our first Open House of 2010. In the past, we’ve allowed area reef clubs to come in and tour, but we have so many requests by people to tour the facility, we wanted to open it up to everybody. Therefore, we launched our Open Houses in 2010 to allow access to anybody and everybody who wants to see what goes on inside the facility!

We are holding four Open Houses in 2010: April 17, June 19, August 14, and November 13. Each Open House starts at noon with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility (best known as the residence of all the Diver’s Den items). We then have a raffle with some great items (April’s Open House included several limited edition aquacultured corals, Reef Crystals salt boxes, a Reaction 4-stage filter, a 48″ Nova Extreme T5 Light Fixture, and much more!). Then until 4pm, it’s open season in the facility for making purchases right out of the coral & fish systems! This is a real treat for many of the dedicated Diver’s Den enthusiasts, and also for beginners. We have staff available the entire time to answer questions and help out. Please visit our Open Houses page for more details if you are interested in attending.

I am jealous of the huge buckets of salt. I shouldn’t have read this as I now have all kinds of ideas going through my head for the unfinished basement.

Shame I consider you guys my LFS and you’re 1200 miles away. I’d have loved to attend this. Where can I get a few of those buckets of Reef Crystals? A year supply of salt would be nice!

Anthony May 14, 2010 at 6:01 pm

There is not actually salt in those. Those are the vats they use to mix and store saltwater for the various systems at the facility.

Oh yeah, and I can’t wait for the June open house! See you guys then!

a spray bottle of water keeps the cats under control here…. I really hope that I win the scratching tower..as the one we have is all used up. ….we have pieces of it all over the carpet….clean it up….and it’s back to messy again….the next time they use it. We have 2 cats….so they use it alot!!!!!!!!!!
