A Tail of Two Kitties

The Queen

The Queen

**Guest post from Tina C.**

There once was a kitty named Gypsy,

Who was Queen of all she Surveyed,

Till her family adopted a young cat,

In the hopes that the two would play.

At first there was hissing and yowling,

Whenever the two would meet.

The battle lines were laid out

For dominance both did compete.

Gypsy did not like the young upstart.

Kitty did not like the Queen.

They both ignored the dog, Karma,

Who of them both was keen.

misskitty Queen Gypsy claimed the South half

Of the family home.

Miss Kitty stayed in the North

The middle was the war zone.

Months went by with no change,

The family despaired of a truce.

Till once both combatants were seen

Partaking together spilled juice.

Now they may never be best friends,

But the family is relieved to know,

There is no more fighting and hissing,

But only chasing to and fro.

Kitty will sneak to the dining room,

And Gypsy will run her back South.

But when nobody is looking,

They might both be seen on the couch.

Thank you for the comments! Kitty and Gypsy don’t play together like cats in other homes might, but at least they do not fight anymore. My children think it is funny how they will sit about three feet apart, facing away from each other.

Cats have a way of working things out on their own…
