I just got a new puppy,Bea Tzu and his name is Tucker. He has been nothing but a normal puppy until last night.Playing, running, nibbling until he went to bed. I thought he peed on the bed but it was drool. when I picked him up, he was like a ragdoll. He cried and yelped like he was in pain. I took him to the vet today, and though he showed improvement, he still cried like he was in pain. Needless to say, they found nothing wrong, but kept him for observation. The vet called later to say it must be nuralogical, and possibly distemper. I find it hard to understand that there was no signs of any type of ailment, especially within an hour of going to bed.. Please, if anyone outthere has any knowledge or insight,Please!!!!! respond.
He"s only 7 wks. old.

I'll have to write a blog post about my most recent experience traveling with a kitten! I never really thought about it before, but I suppose you can crate train a kitten just as well as a dog. Thanks Lisa.

Melissa,
This is great advice! I traveled across 5 states when moving & have taken "many" roads trips with my two kitties in tow. They are always in crates & they do fantastic! My boy, Tigger, is so smart that when he wants to use the restroom he meows at me to let me know. I open his crate door, he takes care of business, & then returns to his crate. Crating an animal is so much safer for them.

Just to update on this: My parents recently took a vacation driving out west, and of course, took puppy Maggie with! My mom comments every single time I talk to her that she just can't believe how well Maggie is doing in her crate! Not only does it help in the motels, but in the car she is in her crate as well. She plays happily, then naps, spends a little time looking out the window, etc. She's a perfectly behaved puppy in her crate and my mom just can't get over it. I think she's *finally* accepted that crate training is the way to go!
