Dental Floss can be dangerous too. Don't just throw it in the waste basket. I have a cat that ate a long strand of mint-flavored dental floss and it wrapped around his tongue and began it way down the digestive track while basically strangling him to death. As simple as it may seem, you cannot just pull this out of the throat. My dear cat had to have emergency surgery to get all the floss out of his small and large intestines. He came through it like a pro. He is now 20 years old and ALL dental floss gets wrapped in Kleenex. Hint...don't flush it down your toilet...that's a whole other issue that you don't want to deal with. :-)
